The Pachella Family is famous for having the best Halloween decorations in the neighborhood. Each year is better than the last.

In 2018, we hosted our first walk through haunted house. In 2020, our display won first place in the inaugural Crown The Haunt decoration contest. 2021 brought a new haunted house set up featuring creepy clowns and a Wonder Woman themed yard display. We used an actual ambulance in 2022’s haunted hospital, complete with a car crash in the front yard. What will we come up with next?!

 2022

One day in 2022, Dan mentioned to Louise that he’d be towing an ambulance to his junkyard. Louise was inspired and persuaded him to make a detour. The ambulance became the foundation for the 2022 Haunted Hospital set up.

Louise also convinced Dan to bring home a smashed demolition derby car and position it as if it had crashed into a tree. The side of the car bore a grim message, reinforced by the partially ejected skeletons and scattered beer cans. A 12’ surgeon skeleton, a dinosaur nurse, and coroner skeletons completed the effect.

 2021

We set up a different layout with a brand new circus theme. Old animatronics were repurposed with clown costumes. Our caskets became carnival game booths. We used cotton candy scented fog too.

As always, it was a huge success. About 350 visitors walked through. Many of them screamed. Some nearly fell into a casket. One had to sit outside for a few moments before being helped to her car on trembling legs. She loved it though.

2020 winner crown the haunt

A year unlike any other! We refused to let Covid ruin Halloween. Although there was no walk through haunted house, we created an elaborate “home school” themed display.

We also featured the Home Depot viral sensation, 12’ skeleton! Our decorations earned a first place trophy in the inaugural Crown The Haunt competition. Check out the video below for a tour.

The Electric Chair

Local friends Alex and Norma stopped by with their incredible mobile execution prop. It pays to know people who are just as obsessed with Halloween as you are.

We made it into the media!

The skeleton pilgrim chasing the T. Rex turkey was a huge hit. It was featured in the New York Post, on a morning show segment (Daytime With Kimberly and Esteban), and various other websites and Facebook posts.

So, decorating for Christmas was clearly the logical next step.
